Working from Home? Absolutely!

Home Office

Do I even need to list all the amazing reasons why starting a home-based business is one of the best things you can do for yourself, your business and your family life?

If you are still having doubts or going through reasons why a home-business is just the thing, I’ll give you a list you sure are going to love! I personally was running a firm from an office but in time, due to many many competitors out there, it got hard to manage to go through all the expenses and break even at the end of the month. So I figured – what is the next best thing I can do to keep my firm running but actually manage to earn some money. And, a home-based business idea sprung into my mind! Guess what? Turns out it was one of the best business decision I’ve ever made. And – here’s why:

1. Personal freedom

Having a home-based office gives you freedom to “come to work” in your pajamas if you feel so that day. Yeah, that includes messy hair and slippers, too. You won’t have to spend hours getting ready for work, putting makeup/choosing what to wear/making sure your hair looks good and your face isn’t too puffed up after sleeping only 3 or 4 hours. Not to mention all that commuting you get to avoid when all the “commuting” you need to do is to go downstairs! Think of the joy of this freedom! Plus, all that time you’d send on commuting or getting ready, you can spend on working on yourself or dedicating that same time to your family. Just think – this is probably extra 3, 4 hours in your day. Unbelievable!

2. The money

When working from home, you actually get to keep the money you earn, maybe even save some! With all the rent and bills you need to pay, the gas for the car, ordering food while at the office… you spend so much money that at the end of the month it seems like you can’t even get by. This doesn’t mean you are unable to run a business. The economy is crazy these days – and – unless you’ve got a big capital behind you, don’t even bother competing with the big companies!

If you are thinking about everyone else who worked with you – they’re still a part of your business. It’s just that, now you get to communicate through e-mails and conference calls instead of all talking in one voice while trapped in the office.

3. Flexibility of Working Hours

This is by far one of my favorite reasons why I love working from home. How many times did it happen that you go to work and there’s simply no inspiration going your way? At least a billion! To me, at least. And that’s all okay, you are human and it’s normal that you need time to recharge and energize.

Great thing about working from home is that, if you aren’t feeling inspired at a particular moment you can take a break and get back to it the moment you feel your brain is finally catching up with your daily needs and musts. You can work longer or work shorter hours, it’s all pretty much up to how you organize the time you’ve set for working. The important thing is not to get carried away, though. Laziness creeps in so easily, so watch out.

4. Your family

One of the biggest disadvantages of modern-day organized businesses is that we spend so much time away from home that we miss out on the most important moments – our kid taking his first step, his first “dada”… Do you really want to be missing all that just for a couple of extra pennies? Of course you don’t! With a home-based business you get to be around people you love all the time! Even though this may be a bit distracting and overwhelming (knowing your family is in the other room while you have to work) you can still take little breaks, like a coffee break or lunch break and see them. It will be enough to energize the rest of your day!

5. Money safety

When you work from home, you don’t have to worry about anyone robbing you. Those are the people you trust, so the office safes can easily be replaced with home ones, and you’ll be just fine!

Do you now understand my fascination with working from home? I hope you do! I wish you all the luck with your personal home office, it’s going to be an amazing experience!
